Accreditation & Compliance

Haus Insights provides independent NatHERS for Existing Homes assessments using accredited software, standardised modelling methods, and nationally recognised assessment frameworks.

Our work is grounded in building science, transparent assessment processes, and evidence-based analysis to support informed decision-making for homeowners and property professionals.

Accredited NatHERS Assessor

Haus Insights is led by Jacqueline Thim, an accredited NatHERS for Existing Homes Assessor.

All assessments are completed using the official NatHERS for Existing Homes framework, which provides a nationally consistent method for evaluating the thermal performance and overall energy performance of existing residential homes.

Assessments are conducted using approved software tools and standardised assumptions to ensure homes can be compared on a consistent basis.

This includes assessment of:

  • Building design and orientation

  • Construction materials and insulation

  • Windows, glazing and shading

  • Ventilation and airtightness

  • Heating and cooling demand

  • Whole-of-home energy performance (where applicable)

What Is NatHERS?

NatHERS (Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme) is Australia’s national framework for assessing residential building thermal performance.

For existing homes, NatHERS assessments provide:

  • A thermal star rating from 0–10 stars

  • Heating and cooling demand estimates

  • Whole-of-home energy performance insights (where applicable)

  • A consistent and standardised method of comparing residential building performance

The framework is designed to help homeowners, buyers, renovators, and property professionals better understand how homes perform and where improvements may have the greatest impact.

Evidence-Based Assessments

Haus Insights follows an evidence-led approach grounded in:

  • Building science principles

  • Standardised modelling methods

  • Climate-responsive assessment practices

  • Measurable building performance data

  • Independent and transparent reporting

Recommendations are based on assessed building performance and tailored to the individual property, helping clients prioritise upgrades that may improve comfort, efficiency, resilience, and long-term building performance.

Compliance & Industry Alignment

Haus Insights supports homeowners and property professionals in preparing for evolving energy performance expectations across the Australian residential sector.

As energy efficiency standards continue to develop across Australia, building performance assessments are expected to play an increasingly important role in:

  • Property sales and leasing

  • Renovation planning

  • Upgrade prioritisation

  • Disclosure requirements

  • Long-term property value and future readiness

Haus Insights stays aligned with current NatHERS methodologies, building performance research, and evolving industry standards.

Independent & Non-Biased Guidance

Haus Insights operates independently and does not sell products, installation services, or building upgrades.

This allows recommendations to remain objective, practical, and focused on what is most relevant for the client and the home itself.

Our role is to help clients better understand:

  • How a home currently performs

  • Which upgrades are likely to have the greatest impact

  • Where improvements may support comfort and efficiency

  • How to prioritise future decisions with greater confidence
